1. College Timings
Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM
In-House Coaching (Science): 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Remedial Classes (Commerce): 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Saturday: 8:30 AM – 12:45 PM
Period Schedule:
- 8:30 – 9:30 Period 1
- 9:30 – 10:30 Period 2
- 10:30 – 10:45 Short Break
- 10:45 – 11:45 Period 3
- 11:45 – 12:45 Period 4
- 12:45 – 1:30 Lunch Break
- 1:30 – 2:30 Period 5
Students must report to college on time. Latecomers will not be permitted into classes without valid reasons.
2. Uniform Policy
Uniform reflects identity, unity, and discipline. All students must adhere strictly to the prescribed dress code.
For Boys:
- • Fancy hairstyles, long sideburns, and streaked hair are not permitted.
- • Wearing of bands, bracelets, or chains is prohibited.
- • Students must be clean-shaven; no beard or mustache is allowed.
For Girls:
- • Fancy hairstyles, streaked hair, and open long hair are not permitted.
- • Eye makeup is not allowed; only one ear piercing is permitted.
General Norms:
- • Identity cards must be worn at all times.
- • Only formal black shoes are allowed; sandals permitted only for medical reasons.
- • Blazers are compulsory on Mondays and during special occasions.
- • Crop tops, sleeveless attire, and torn jeans are strictly prohibited.
Uniform Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Decent Casuals Permitted: Tuesday and Saturday
3. Punctuality & Discipline
- • A minimum of 80% attendance is mandatory to be eligible for examinations.
- • Students must arrive before the first bell; habitual latecomers will face disciplinary action.
- • The use of electronic gadgets (mobile phones, cameras, earphones, or gaming devices) on campus is strictly prohibited. Confiscated items will not be returned.
- • Respect towards faculty, staff, and peers is compulsory at all times.
- • Any form of misconduct, indiscipline, or disrespect towards institutional authorities will invite strict action.
4. Anti-Ragging & POSCO Compliance
BGS PU College maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, harassment, or discrimination of any kind.
- • Ragging in any form — physical, verbal, or psychological — is a criminal offense and will be dealt with as per UGC and Government of Karnataka regulations.
- • The college strictly enforces the POSCO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) and ensures a safe, secure, and inclusive environment for all students.
- • Confidential grievance mechanisms are available for students to report any form of bullying, harassment, or misconduct.

5. Leave Policy
- • Planned leave must be informed in advance to the class teacher.
- • Emergency leave should be intimated on the same day.
- • Leave beyond three days requires a medical certificate.
- • Leave during examinations will not be permitted except for genuine medical emergencies.
6. Attendance & Academic Integrity
- • Regular attendance, participation, and timely submission of assignments are mandatory.
- • Students found engaging in malpractice or plagiarism will face disciplinary action.
- • Attendance will be monitored daily and shared with parents through the Campus UNO portal.
7. Code of Conduct
- • Respect institutional property and maintain campus cleanliness.
- • Follow classroom etiquette and decorum at all times.
- • Avoid bringing valuables to campus.
- • Misuse of social media platforms to defame the institution or its members will be strictly dealt with.
