BGS PU College was established in the academic year 2015–16 under the aegis of the revered Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust® (SAST), a premier educational organization founded in 1973 under the divine guidance of His Divine Soul, Padmabhushana Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji. The Trust continues to flourish under the visionary leadership of His Holiness Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr. Nirmalanandanatha Maha Swamiji, Chief Pontiff and Chairman, and Sri Sri Dr. Prakashanath Swamiji, Managing Director of the BGS and SJB Group of Institutions and Hospitals.
